JAZZ ARTIST DEVIN BING PERFORMS AT PRIVATE EVENT AT NEW YORK'S FRIAR'S CLUB
New York, NY, March 06, 2012 – Brooklyn based Jazz and Soul entertainer, Devin Bing joins the ranks of such greats as Dean Martin, Irving Berlin and Frank Sinatra in taking the stage for an exclusive, private performance at The Friars Club of New York.
Tonight, Bing will eloquently combine his unique interpretation of the jazz standards of yesteryear with a sneak peak into some highly anticipated new material at the landmark music and comedy venue. The home of the Friars Club – called the Monastery – located in midtown Manhattan boasts one of New York City's most distinguished pasts, playing host to hundreds of celebrity guests for nearly over a century.
"I'm a great fan of celebrity roasts and particularly recall when the Friars honored Dean Martin." says Bing. "I want to respect the entertainers that came before me, the members that have invited me to perform this evening and in a way, pay reverence to history of the venue. I consider it a great honor and plan to put on quite the show."
Rapidly becoming one of New York’s most sought after live performers, Bing has performed with Grammy Award winners and nominees including Kevin Mahogany, Jon Secada and Kurt Elling. Upon returning from his last coast to coast U.S. tour, opening for music icon and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Lloyd Price, Bing roused audiences with captivating jazz renditions and insightfully fresh original music.
