FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JAZZ ARTIST DEVIN BING BACK IN THE WEST VILLAGE BY POPULAR DEMAND

New York, NY, August 30, 2011 – Jazz and soul music lovers once again have the chance to swoon over a performance by emerging artist Devin Bing.  A surprisingly intimate yet fervently energetic collection of unforgettable jazz standards and next-to-incendiary original compositions, Devin Bing puts on a show that sets the house ablaze and is not to be missed.

For one night only, Bing will perform at Sullivan Hall (214 Sullivan Street) in the West Village on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 7:30 p.m..  This is the much anticipated follow-up to his premier performance at the West Village venue. Bing’s recent single “Summer Breeze” will be sure to hit a note with concert goers enjoying the last days of summer in the city.  Expect seamless vocals, mouth-trumpet duets with his horn player and of course, the notes of jazz, R&B and soul.

Rapidly becoming one of New York’s most sought after live performers, “Bing brings a Harry Connick, Jr. vibe to the stage but with a lot more energy and sass,” says Kevin Johnston, New York Local Music Examiner.

A showman of his talents from the age of 11, Bing has devoted his life to the art of music, performing and entertaining.  He has headlined his own jazz quartet and is currently touring throughout New York and the east coast.

“But there’s substance behind the cool. He knows a major 7th chord or two, and his descending choruses with rising vocals are a surprise, along with his unusual ear for a phrase. This guy is here for the music, and he doesn’t mind a party,” Johnston’s article reads.  “Devin is a night out on New York that takes you away from dated jazz standards and confessional singer/songwriters.  See him while it’s still cheap,” Johnston wrote after having seen Bing perform at Sullivan Hall.

Bing has performed with Grammy Award winners and nominees including Kevin Mahogany, Jon Secada and Kurt Elling.  Upon returning from his last coast to coast U.S. tour, opening for music icon and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Lloyd Price, Bing roused audiences with captivating jazz renditions and insightfully fresh original music.
